About Our Mission

Honoring Our Heroes

At the Eastern North Carolina Field of Honor, we are dedicated to honoring veterans and their families. Our goal: to display an acre of American flags, each one dedicated to a Veteran, on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. These will serve as a powerful tribute to those who have served our country and their families.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Some Answers to frequently asked questions:

The mission of Eastern North Carolina Field of Honor, and the Stewart family, is to Honor Veterans and their Families, Raise Funds for Veterans Organizations facilitated by VFW 6088, Washington North Carolina and promote a sense of National Pride as we celebrate our Nation, its Veterans and the Blessings of Liberty

    Q: Why $40?

A: The Flags Cost $16+tax. Although we'll accept more or less for each flag sponsorship, we want to support local veterans organizations in a small way and this is how we're doing it. After a small donation toward each flag by the Event Hosts, the balance of $30 will be given, in full, to each Organization and funds facilitated by the VFW 6088 in Washington NC

A: Because Our Country, with it's blessings and it's flaws, is really just people. Some who Serve, some who wished they had Served and some who've sent Loved Ones to Serve. We all are The United States of America and our sense of Pride and Honor stretches beyond race, religion and social standing. We're Americans and we love our Veterans and their Families.

A: Some people are blessed to be born and bred in the beautiful area of Eastern North Carolina and others of us have dreamed to be here and finally made that dream a reality... for the Stewarts, they've finally made it it here after 25 years of waiting.

A: That's up to you! We'll ask you to donate again next year (or events conclude each year with Veterans day) but there's no hard feelings if you choose not to and ask us to keep your service members name on a flag. Donations are just that, donations and once the flags are paid for, 100% of those donations will go to Veterans Organizations

A: We'll help all we can but we're new to this, too... Just find a place that's visible and pretty (front lawns are fine!) and a Veterans Charity you'd like to help (there are plenty)... Then ask for help by calling Tom or talking to those charities about your idea. There are plenty of people out there who appreciate our veterans and would like to help in their own ways!
